Amber Evancho Death & Obituary – A Beloved Member of the Livonia, MI Community

Born on October 20, 1968, Mark was known for his unwavering faith, love for the outdoors, and tireless dedication to helping others. A passionate angler, he not only found peace on the water but also used it as a tool for healing and outreach. Through mentoring fellow anglers and organizing community fishing events, Mark became a beloved figure throughout Minnesota.

Despite his personal battle with alcoholism, Mark transformed his struggle into purpose. He became a powerful advocate for addiction recovery, merging his faith with his love for fishing to create meaningful, therapeutic programs. In his honor, a statewide fundraising initiative now provides fishing licenses to participants in recovery programs, supporting free inner-city fishing events, family retreats, and healing experiences in nature—just as Mark envisioned.

To celebrate Mark’s life, a memorial service will be held at Discover Church on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m., and a luncheon to follow.

Mark is survived by his beloved children, Gracie and Grady, who, along with friends and family, extend heartfelt gratitude for the community’s support, prayers, and shared memories. Tributes continue to pour in, honoring his generosity, quiet strength, and deep devotion to Christ.

Though he has cast his final line, Mark David Schutz’s legacy will continue to ripple through the waters he loved and the lives he helped restore. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
